Long Form Conservatory classes meet every Wednesday night. After four weeks together, the group will start traveling to China Cloud after class each week to perform in the 9pm showcases there.
This will make for a high-level, performance-focused course that prizes reps, shows and making audiences laugh, while also delivering the core learning objectives of its curriculum. Truly the ideal way to learn and experiment with advanced long form improv.
This semester’s Conservatory class is Long Form 3 and is led by Devin Mackenzie, a comedian who has toured all over the world performing unstructured long form. You’ll be in great hands.
In this class, you will learn to peel back all structure and dive into the blank canvas of the organic Harold, or open jam. You’ll tear into the advanced techniques of long forms: transformations, advanced edits, and high level concepts like game of the form. You’ll practice committing to structures, games, and patterns that emerge from the suggestion and the scene work, without any preconceived plan.
Long Form 3 is one part of the Long Form Studio. Once Long Form 1 has been completed, these courses (Long Form 2-4) can be taken in any order!
Refunds & Cancellations – Registration is non-refundable within two weeks of a class' start date. Refunds for class fees are available prior to the two week cut off, however Eventbrite fees will not be refunded. If you have any questions or concerns about refunds, please email [email protected].
Accessibility - The venue is accessible from the street level with no steps up – the main door has a significant lip, but the side door (which will be unlocked for classes) is level to the sidewalk. Click here for more info!
Show Day Information - Wondering when your shows are? 95% of BTC shows are on Wednesday nights at 7PM or 9PM. Your exact show schedule will be sent on the first weekend of your class!
