In this post-pandemic era, it is more evident than ever that there is a significant knowledge gap impacting our ability to support people with long-term post-viral difficulties. Rarely has this skill-set featured in professional trainings or accessible ongoing profession development. Clinicians see even more patients than prior to the Covid-19 pandemic suffering with debilitating persistent symptoms, and many of us feel ill-equipped to know where to start.

AIMS OF THE EVENT

This meeting aims to give interested parties confidence that they are not missing opportunities to help patient manage their symptoms, or red flags to more urgent and pernicious health sequelae.

Practitioners who have been researching and supporting autonomic dysfunction have been aware for some time that PoTS and associated conditions often materialise after an acute infection has passed. It is now clear that PoTS is presenting in patients with a long-covid diagnosis. In additional to presenting clear information about the diagnosis and effective management of PoTS, this meeting will also introduce attendees to the range of allied diagnoses and multi-specialty and multi-disciplinary approaches. The intention is to arm the clinician with how to support even the most complex post-covid presentations with practical interventions to optimise their functioning and overall well-being.

WHO CAN ATTEND

This event will be appropriate for any healthcare professional managing patients with long covid and/or PoTS including (but not limited to) primary and secondary care physicians and nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and dieticians.

IN PERSON OR VIRTUAL

We are also excited for the first time post-pandemic to provide a hybrid event. You will have the option of attending in-person, with all the associated benefits of networking and idea-sharing or there is the option to attend remotely. PoTS UK in conjunction with Dr Nick Gall and Health Education England look forward to hosting you through this informative day.

Everyone who attends the event (either in person or virtually) will be sent the recordings after the event.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND

PLEASE NOTE: There are only 100 spaces available for those wishing to attend in person. If you register for a place and are then unable to attend, please let us know by Wednesday 22nd June to ensure we are not charged by the venue. This will also allow us to give your place to someone else who would like to attend. Failure to cancel will incur a fee of £25 to recover some of the irretrievable costs to the charity.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
