About this Event
Join Selva bar manager Mike Borowski and Chef Carlos Jurado on a journey to explore one of the key aspects of a solid cocktail: balance. Tasting ingredients on their own and learning to meld them, this educational experience will feature sips, bites, and, of course, balance.
"Guests will have individual ingredients in front of them to taste, and then will be served these cocktails," Mike said. "They will be able to add modifiers—think salt or basil—to see the transition of those cocktails. Small bites from Chef Carlos will be served to further advance how combining flavors works to expand one's culinary and cocktail experience."
Guests will explore the history of and how to make:
- Margarita, or a daisy: super basic example of a tequila daisy “margarita” featuring Cuervo Traditional
- Mezcal daisy: Using lulo and smoked salt to show how you can swap out some lime juice and use another acidic ingredient featuring 400 Conejos Mezcal
- Whiskey smash-basil and berries: Shows how you can throw in fruit and herbs into something like whiskey and, using the same principles with previous cocktails being made, you get a totally different flavor that applies to featured whiskey, Tin Cup.
