ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Petrushka Bazin Larsen is the co-founder and co-owner of Sugar Hill Creamery, Harlem's first family-owned handmade ice cream shop. Since opening in 2017, her vision to fill a culinary gap in her neighborhood of over 20 years has grown into four locations: three in Harlem and a seasonal location in StuyTown. During the pandemic, the company launched nationwide shipping via Goldbelly and expanded to offering grab and go ice cream at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, while also running their corporate catering program.

Sugar Hill Creamery has garnered significant recognition, appearing on The Today Show, in The New York Times, and listed among New York's essential ice cream shops by Eater. Vogue Italia featured them among 15 must-visit Harlem destinations. The business received the StarChefs Rising Star Community Award (2023), Heinz Black Kitchen Initiative Award (2024), and Petrushka earned the Black Women in Food Award (2025).

Petrushka’s work at Sugar Hill Creamery fosters community through programs like New Mom's Group and Ice Cream for Impact Nights that support local causes. Her background includes leadership roles at Brooklyn Children's Museum and The Laundromat Project. Now a JFK Airport joint venture partner, she also runs MEWEUS, coaching women through career transitions and entrepreneurship.
