About Lodgings
Lodgings, a group of seasoned Omaha indie musicians, have been crafting artful tunes for over a decade—songs that span from jangly, melodic, energetic rock to harsh walls of feedback, as well as quiet, brooding moments of regret, leading to a much acclaimed presence underground, locally.
They’ve released two full-length albums (Lodgings S/T in 2016 and the Albini-produced Water Works in 2019), an EP (Daisies, 2017), and most recently contributed to the local compilation V.V. Volume 1 alongside fellow Omaha heavy-hitters Neva Dinova, The Sun-Less Trio, and Stephen Bartolomei, Violenteer, Custom Catacombs and Ashley Rayne Boe.
And now their follow-up to Water Works, The Thousand Yard Scare, which was dropped digitally this spring is now being given its proper due with a limited run vinyl release. The record is a sprawling document of Lodgings finding their final form, filled with abrasive textures, despairing vocal melodies, and brief moments of respite enveloped in lush soundscapes. These are songs that speak to the weariness of the frayed mind in the modern world.
With what possibly will be both their last record and their final live performance, Lodgings will be joined by longtime friends and bandmates from former projects—In Tongues and Spurney’s Hawk—local legends in their own right, for a night that promises to be energetic, varied, and memorable.
