About this Event
Texas Health Community Hope is planting the seeds for a healthier community by creating opportunities to learn directly from local urban farmers. The“Locally Grown Farm Experience' series will feature hands-on activities at local farms around Dallas-Fort Worth.
Locally Grown Farm Experience at Opal's Farm: Container Gardening
Saturday, May 18, 2024 | 2pm – 3:30pm
Join us for an afternoon "on the farm" and learn from urban farmers firsthand, gain tips, and discover how we all can support local farmers in their efforts to enhance community well-being.
During the Container Garden Farm Experience, you'll learn gardening fundamentals, from soil nutrition to watering techniques. You'll leave with your own container plant. Hopefully you'll be inspired to use your new-found knowledge and skills to start a farm or garden in your back yard or porch.
This event is designed for Adults 18 years or older. There is no fee to participate, however advanced registration is required and spaces are limited. Registration is open until May 17 or until the class is filled.
