Local Tourist is the project of songwriter Erin Umstead. The band was officially formed in Christchurch, New Zealand by Erin—originally from the US—along with New Zealanders Joe Sampson (Salad Boys, T54) and Rory Dalley (Ben Woods Group). The original band is currently divided between the US and NZ, with rotating live members based on Erin's location. steppesun is the musical project of Paul Arbor, an Idaho-born activist and songwriter. His folk-rock blends Randy Newman-esque satire of rural life as well as environmentally-inspired epics. He often plays with banjo player Allison Anders (who will be joining him during this performance!) and guitarist Josh Nelson.
