About this Event
Levi self-identifies as a crucial, rhythmic, poetic, consciousness raiser and urban griot. Born and raised in Liverpool by his Jamaican parents, he had access to two cultures. Whilst working in catering in the early 80s he attended the Liverpool 8 Writers Workshop and the scene was set for him to become a performance poet. A firm member of the Rastafari movement, he saw it as his mission to reach a wider audience. Bringing his unique sound to the theatre and schools Levi became a Citizen of Honour in 2023 and accepted his award in the Liverpool Town Hall.
