Nevada City’s literary community will take center stage on Saturday, November 16, as the Madelyn Helling Library returns to host the Local Author Showcase! This event, running from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will celebrate the talent and creativity of over 50 local authors, offering community members an opportunity to meet, support, and be inspired by authors from Nevada County.The showcase, which will take over the library for the day, will transform the space into an engaging marketplace of ideas and stories. Attendees will have the chance to browse a variety of books, meet authors, and purchase copies of their work. Genres span across fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir, children’s literature, and more, reflecting the diverse voices and perspectives that enrich Nevada County’s literary scene.
Throughout the day, authors will also take the stage to share their insights, reading excerpts from their work, and engaging in discussions with the audience. These talks will offer a behind-the-scenes look into the authors’ creative processes and the themes that inspire their writing, fostering a deeper connection between local writers and readers.
