Patty Warren is a contributor to Fiesty Deeds: Historical Fictions of Daring Women
The stories in Feisty Deeds span six centuries and feature ordinary women of all ages and occupations who find themselves in situations that call for resistance, rebellion, stealth, or confrontation. The stories demonstrate a multitude of strategies that women employ to better their lives and those of others around them.
The Feisty Deeds authors are 23 women writers who are members of Women’s Fiction Writers Association. Revenues from the first annual volume of Feisty Deeds will be donated to the WFWA Scholarship Fund. This fund provides resources to develop craft and foster successful careers.
After reading a local newspaper article, Patty W Warren was captivated by the brave women pilots who flew planes for the WASP Program during World War II. “Junebug” tells the story of one such young woman determined to join and serve her country. Patty grew up in a family of storytellers and writes stories seeded in the South which center around strong women and their family relationships with a touch of mystery. She’s currently working on her second novel which she plans to publish in the future. She’s a member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association, the NC Writers’ Network, the Historical Novel Society and several terrific writing and critique groups. Sara E. Johnson is a mystery writer who spent nine months exploring wondrous New Zealand. Everywhere she snooped, there was a mystery that needed writing. She has a BA in Journalism and an MA in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Sara lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband. Sara is a graduate of the Durham Citizen Police Academy. She is the past President of Triangle Sisters in Crime and a member of the North Carolina Writers’ Network.

Arden Coutts is a trans author of queer romantic suspense/thriller novels and a poet.They grew up in Ainsworth, Nebraska, and went to Iowa State University to pursue their love of all things old and undiscovered, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology/Archaeology.After various careers and dabbling in poetry and writing, they published their first poetry collection, Where We Once Existed, in 2022.
