THIS FEBRUARY AT TAG, WE ARE PROUD TO WELCOME LOCAL ARTIST MEGAN SHEYMegan is a sculptor, photographer and painter who lives in Palm Harbor, Fl. and Ithaca, New York. She trained as a ceramic sculptor and poet at Wells College and received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon in sculpture. She turned to photography when her career veered away from the Arts in the mid 1990's. During Covid she studied pastel painting with Shawn Dell Joyce. Her work is now primarily pastel or iPad paintings and art photography. Shay paints both en plein air and in the studio.
Shay's pastel works have been praised for their emotional clarity craftsmanship, and sense of calm. She continues to explore the expressive potential of pastels through ongoing series that blend realism with abstract sensibilities. Her work has been exhibited in local and regional shows, and her paintings are held in private collections.
A reception will be held Saturday February 7, 5-7. Please come and meet Megan and celebrate her incredible art. General public is always welcome!
