Meet our Artist: Renee Gibbons
Originally from New Jersey, I relocated to Southwest Florida in 2004 and fell in love with the quaint little town of Punta Gorda. For a couple years, I owned and operated a Jewelry and Bead store in Towles Plaza in Punta Gorda which I really enjoyed. I also spent some time as a full-time street artist in Key West as well as showing at Guild Hall Gallery on Duval Street. Key West is also where I met my husband, Christopher in 2014. After bringing him here to show him the town and meet my friends, we decided to relocate back here as I always felt like this is my home and happy place and I knew he would feel the same. He has been in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration business for over 35 years, so we decided to start his own business here (Licensed To Chill) so I could run the office and still have the time to devote to my art.
I have been a member of the Visual Art Center since 2008. I consider each one of my designs a part of who I am, and I feel connected to others through a shared love of art. My work has evolved into a wide range of mediums, including Painting, Alcohol Inks, Drawing, Metalsmithing/Jewelry, Resin Art, Pottery and Fused Glass. Each item I create is a One-Of-A-Kind design. My flow/pour art is the latest form of painting I have been working in. It is a very liberating style to work in and I have found that everyone sees a little something different in each painting, so fun! I am blessed to have the opportunity to share my art with others and Thank You for taking to time to read my bio and to view my designs.
