LOANHOOD Fashion Rental Studio comes to Glasgow as part of Hubbubs Slow Threads event
About this Event

We are so excited to be hosting our first two day event, Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October in Scotland as part of the Slow Threads: Sustainable Fashion Fair in partnership with Hubbub.

LOANHOOD is a gender inclusive, fashion rental app on a mission to change the face of fashion, championing all wardrobes from high street to high end. This is about style over trend led fashion.

Why rent over buying?

  • It's kinder to the planet - producing more and more clothes is not sustainable so lets circulate what is already out there
  • You can wear amazing pieces that you might not want to purchase or perhaps can't afford. It's accessing fashion at a much more affordable price point
  • You can make money from items you already own. Instead of selling once, you can rent it over and over again and still get to wear it yourself

LOANHOOD is its community

Sure, we’ve built this dope app, but you the people of LOANHOOD bring it to life. You set the style agenda, you create, curate and hustle so that together we can make fashion rental a movement and change the fast fashion narrative. Right now we are a collective of fashion lovers, stylists, students, industry insiders, designers, makers, fashion activists and changemakers. Glasgow, come on this journey with us!!

Across Friday and Saturday we will be hosting our Fashion Rental Studio. Here you can try on incredible clothes from our community, local and nationwide, learn more about circular fashion and experience fashion in a new, exciting way!

You can rent the perfect party garms or add them to your wishlist for later, if you haven't downloaded the app then you can join the rental revolution HERE.

Want to join our community and start makin money from items sitting idle in your wardobe? Bring them down to the Briggait and we can help with photography or uploading your garms? The Brigiate is a great spot for taking pics and we'll be on hand to help in the studio.

SATURDAY 1 OCT

Clothes Swap

Come to our clothes swap on Saturday - get your FREE Tickets HERE

All you need to do is regsiter for the Slow Threads event and scroll down to Slow Threads Clothes Swap with Loanhood (Saturday) and get your ticket!

We offer a token system for customers who bring no more than 8 items. Items will be categorised into relevant tiers (1, 2) based on the type, brand, RRP and condition. This will dictate how many tokens the customer can then use to shop for new items. 2 token items will have a yellow sticker assigned to them. This is a community driven swap where we accept items from high street up to high end.

How it works

Please bring no more than 8 items of clothing, accessories and/or footwear freshly cleaned * and ready to go on the racks. We accept all shapes and sizes including children's clothing.

DROP 11:00- 16:30

Rolling drop and swap

You will be able to drop your items from 11am and the swap starts at 1pm. We will then start a rolling drop and swap from 1pm-4:30pm. At 4:30pm we will stop accepting items but you will still be able to swap items that are out on the rail or for £1 you can buy tokens. These clothes want to go to a good home and all proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

Bring up to 8 items to trade for tokens. Items will be assessed by the Swap Shop Assistants on arrival and displayed on the rails.

Once you give us your clothes we will categorise them and give you tokens in return.

There is a grouping system of clothes based on Recommended Retail Price (RRP) and condition. This will dictate how many tokens you receive and can swap on the stalls.

SWAP - 13:00- 17:30

Browse the rails and use your token currency to exchange for new preloved items. You can only swap if you have dropped items during the drop period.

POWER HOUR 16:30-17:30

During the final hour of the swap you will be able to buy tokens for £1 with all proceeds being donated to a local chairty.

Rental Studio

Our rental studio is open 11am-7pm for you to come try on items, add to your wishlist or rent on the spot!

LOANHOOD is the fashion rental app made for people who want to wear new stuff without buying new. Done with waiting for a sustainable change to happen, its three female co-founders came together to make it happen. On the app, Loaners can borrow other people’s clothes or rent out their own to make some money. It’s reinventing the way fashion works (for the better).

It’s not just clothes LOANHOOD like to share. We’ve got a lot of knowledge about the fashion industry and sustainability. We want to get everyone hyped up on slowing down fast fashion.

DISCLAIMER

We take no responsibility for garments donated and swapped. Please bring items you are happy to swap and emotionally detached from. You may not find items of the same quality as the ones you bring. Once you have donated an item you will not be able to change your mind after token exchange. LOANHOOD accept no liability for any claim or loss resulting from any transaction taking place at the swapping event. All garments remaining after the event will be donated to local charities
