LMF Short Film Development Sessions

Join us for the LMF Short Film Development Sessions, hosted at MAKE CIC, a vibrant community hub that fosters creativity and innovation in Liverpool. This introductory session, on Thursday, 8th August, from 2 pm to 4 pm, is perfect for first-time filmmakers and those looking to deepen their understanding of the short film creation process.

For a modest fee of £3 (with free hot drink & snacks included), you’ll gain invaluable insights into every stage of short film production, from scripting to post-production. Learn from experienced filmmakers who have worked on budgets ranging from £500 to £12,000.

This session is the first in a series of monthly workshops held every first Thursday of the month. The workshops aim to build your filmmaking skills and confidence. We’ll provide an overview of the entire series, outlining what to expect, our support, and the exciting journey ahead.

WEEK ONE: Script Formatting & Breakdown

During this introductory session, you’ll meet the LMF team and get a breakdown of script formats and software, starting right from the basics. We won’t just tell you about the importance of following rules but will explore the creative possibilities in formatting and different ways to write a script.

Our sessions are led by filmmakers who have faced challenges, push boundaries, and have created films with zero funding, ensuring you receive guidance from those who truly understand the struggles from the ground up.
