LLM Annual Service and Licensing

Bishop Gavin, Revd Dr Andy Angel and the Archdeaconry Advisers would like to invite you all to the LLM Annual Service and Licensing which takes place at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford at 11am on Saturday 2nd November 2024.

This great occasion has two purposes - to admit new candidates to the office of Reader in the Church of England and Licence them as Lay Ministers in the Diocese of Oxford, and also to provide an opportunity for all Lay Ministers who hold a bishop’s licence or a certificate of permission to officiate, to renew their promises and rededicate themselves to their ministry. Bishop Gavin will lead the service.

The service starts at 11am, so please can you be in your seats by 10.45am.

All tickets are free of charge.

Clergy and LLM’s wishing to robe: We have seating reserved especially for Robing Clergy and a further block of seats reserved for LLM’s wishing to Robe. (See ticket types when you come to book your place) If you are planning to Robe, we recommend that you allow yourself at least half an hour to Robe, so ideally, you would need to be at the Cathedral for about 10am or just after. (We are not sure yet where you will be robing, but will give you this information a little nearer to the time)

The Cathedral have asked us to say that the expected dress for Robing Clergy is a cassock and surplice with a white stole (ideally) or a preaching scarf
