"Lizzie is a magnetic performer and a rising star in the Americana world — and when you hear her, you'll understand why. She's got a way of writing songs that are tender, incisive, gentle and intense, all at the same time. She's one of those artists who makes you feel like they're singing directly to you." -NPR World Cafe
New York singer-songwriter, harpist, and guitarist Lizzie No is one of the most exciting new voices in contemporary Americana music. As a black artist growing up in New York, Lizzie discovered folk and country music in high school and at Stamford listening to the likes of Bob Dylan, The Cranberries, The Avett Brothers and The Dixie Chicks. The daughter of an African-American singer/church organist with a day job and an Irish-American Spanish teacher, perhaps the blending of cultures she grew up with is one of the reasons she seems so original. Or perhaps Lizzie No is just an exceptionally talented artist with a gift for making music sound fresh and relevant.
Her 2017 debut album, Hard Won, was hailed as “simultaneously understated and fervent” by Billboard Magazine. No’s 2019 album, Vanity, was a hit at college radio stations across the country, cracking the NACC Top Adds Chart. Rolling Stone Magazine called the first single, 'Narcissus,' a 'crisp alt-rock gem' and a 'Song You Need To Know.' After dropping a surprise home-studio-made EP in 2020, Lizzie is currently working on her third studio album and sharing music and writing with her loyal subscriber base on ampled.com/artist/lizzieno.
Lizzie has toured with Iron & Wine, Adia Victoria, Ron Pope, Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, Queer Country, and has showcased at festivals - Newport Folk Fest, Americanafest, South by Southwest, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. She is also a winner of the American Songwriter Magazine Lyrics Contest.
