Liz Rose Shulman: Good Jewish Girl: A Jerusalem Love Story Gone Bad

In , local author and educator Liz Rose Shulman narrates her breakup with Israel. This essay collection invites readers to share in the challenges and heartbreak--as well as the moments of joy and humor--that accompany one woman's reckoning with Zionism. On Thursday, March 13th at Bookends & Beginnings, the author will be in conversation with local poet Tony Trigilio.

Liz Rose Shulman is a writer and a teacher. Her writing has appeared in Slate, The Boston Globe, Newsweek, The Chicago Tribune, Another Chicago Magazine, and TheLos Angeles Review, among others. She teaches English at Evanston Township High School and in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. She lives in Chicago.

Tony Trigilio is the author and editor of seventeen books of poetry and prose, including, most recently, The Punishment Book; Craft: A Memoir ; and Proof Something Happened, selected as the winner of the Marsh Hawk Poetry Prize. He is a Professor of English and Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago.
