DRUMMER LIVIU POP “A charismatic and exciting drummer, Liviu always has the groove in his playing but
also stands out with his fiery spontaneity. He is one of the few that can play blues,
jazz and all shades of American roots styles with authority and originality.” - Bruce

nominee and winner in 2019).
Liviu lives in Hartford, CT and he has performed and toured with many legendary
artists: Hubert Sumlin, Sam Lay, Lucky Peterson, Mighty Sam McClain, Bobby Rush,
Ruben Wilson, Kal David, Debbie Davies, Popa Chubby, Studebaker John, and literally
too many other important national, international and regional musicians to list here.
Currently, Liviu is the drummer with renowned pianist and organist Bruce Katz.
In 2018, Liviu has been inducted into the CT Blues Hall of Fame.
Besides being active in the blues, soul and jazz music scene, Liviu also has a solo
project named Sonic Play, mixing minimal techno tracks with live beats, for a unique
organic and trancey experience.
