Reclaim your creative expression and write with the power of your real voice.
About this Event

Join us for afternoon of sound healing and guided writing designed to help you remember your authentic voice and tune in to genuine expression.

The August meet up for Living Writing will feature special guest Erica Grande, voice alchemist and sound healer of Into Your Harmony, offering a journey through sound with various modalities of music to accompany participants' writing practice.

This session is intended for writers of all levels of experience looking to gently clear any obstacles to expressing their voice. Guided by the sounds of Erica's music and a series of simple writing exercises led by Anna, writers will be supported to reconnect with the voice within, clarify its frequency, and say what you came to say.

For maximum comfort during the sound bath at the beginning of the session, we recommend bringing a yoga mat and blanket. Remember your pencil and journal for the writing practice after.

We greatly appreciate your donations for our time and effort. Our suggested donation for this collaborative three-hour session is £15.

Join us in this generative and supportive environment where poets, prose writers, and playwrights can engage in creative practice together. Practitioners of all genres welcome, whether you're a moonlighter or it's your vocation by day.

Let's enliven our creative practice together!

Anna is a poet and doctoral candidate at the University of St Andrews. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon, where she served as the Walter and Nancy Kidd Graduate Teaching Fellow in Poetry, and a BA in Linguistics from the University of Maryland, where she received the Henrietta Spiegel Creative Writing Award. She sees writing as a creative practice of individuation, connecting us to the value of our authentic perspective.

Her creative preoccupations include the interplay of song and storytelling in literary expression, the evolution and subversion of traditional genres, and modes of contemplation in poetic forms. Her poems engage with her critical research, which explores artistic approaches to inconsolable experience, including metonymic figuration and feminist perspectives on the sublime. Anna has taught creative writing, literature, the humanities, argumentative writing, and English as a foreign language.
