About this Event

Building Wellbeing with Chronic Pain - Community Appointment Day

Are you living with a chronic pain condition like Fibromyalgia, Inflammatory Arthritis or similar conditions? Then this day has been designed for you.

This Community Pain Support Day is organised by Cambridge City (North & East) Primary Care Network in partnership with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Who is this event for?

This day is for people with diagnosed chronic pain conditions who are no longer under investigation or awaiting procedures. The focus is on self-management and living well with established chronic pain. If you're still awaiting tests, procedures, or specialist referrals, please check with your GP practice whether this event is suitable for your current situation.

What to Expect:

Choose your own journey through our rolling programme of supportive sessions:

  • Pain Management Workshops - Learn effective pain strategies
  • Information Market Stalls - Connect with local organisations and resources to help you
  • Peer Support Opportunities - Meet others who understand your experience
  • Personal Care Planning - A dedicated conversation with our team to develop your own Personalised Care Plan based on "What Matters to You"

Who Should Attend:

This day is open to patients registered at any of the below practices in Cambridge living with chronic pain who want to:

  • Learn new pain management strategies
  • Connect with others who understand
  • Access practical support and resources
  • Explore ways to help others in your community

You must be registered at one of the following practices in order to reserve a space:

  • Nuffield Road Medical Centre
  • York Street Medical Practice
  • Arbury Road Surgery
  • East Barnwell Health Centre
  • Cambridge Access Surgery
  • Bottisham Medical Practice

Why Come:

Building on the success of similar community days, this event offers peer-led support that complements your existing healthcare. All activities are designed to be accessible and welcoming.

No medical referral needed. No pressure. Just support, understanding, and practical help.

Register for either:

09:30 - 13:00 Morning Session: (You can stay after 13:00 to browse our pain market stalls in the main hall)

12:00 - 16:00 Afternoon Session: (You can arrive from 10:00am to browse our pain market stalls in the main hall)

This event is the first step toward establishing ongoing Pain Cafes - community-led support groups run by people with lived experience of chronic pain.
