About this Event
Recently published, Thriving at Home contributor and Montgomery County-based certified-aging specialist, Steve Lorberbaum, educates and empowers families in the ways that they can make a home environment safe and supportive. He identifies the many services available for caregivers and patients for ‘aging in place’ and local agencies that can give support.
The talk will provide guidance on:
· Where to start when looking for care for a loved one or yourself
· How to best prepare for hospitalization
· How to be a healthcare advocate
· Aging healthcare needs include for those with dementia or other physical challenges
· Copies of the book will be available free to participants
About the Presenter
As the owner of Assisting Hands Home Care Potomac, Steve Lorberbaum is dedicated to providing families and their loved ones with exceptional caregiving services and support. His experience is based on the challenges he and his wife faced as they addressed needs for their parents. He states “It’s about getting to know each family personally and then providing a solution that works”.
He has more than 25 years practicing law in private practice and as general corporate counsel. In 2014, Steve became a Certified Senior Advisor. He is on the boards of Cupid’s Charity (an organization that supports the Children’s Tumor Foundation), Potomac Community Village (neighbor helping neighbor senior organization) and GROWS (The Grass Roots Organization for the Wellbeing of Seniors). Steve also serves on the Montgomery County’s Age Friendly- a home and community based services workgroup. In 2015 he won the Presidential Award from Assisting Hands Home Care.

Refund, Cancellation, No Show & Re-Scheduling Policy:
Participants who register for the workshop and do not attend or cancel their registration less than 24 hours prior to the start of the program, will not receive a refund.
Refunds (not including the processing fee) will be issued with 24 hour cancellation notice after the program has completed. Please submit your refund request for the event to: [email protected]
Participants who are not able to attend and have contacted the Women’s Center 24 hours prior to the workshop can re-schedule for the same workshop on another day, up to 6 months after the initial workshop date.
Full refunds will be issued for any program cancelled by The Women’s Center. If the program is rescheduled, we will offer to transfer the cost to the new date in lieu of a refund.
