Closing off this year with two live acts we are really excited to hear at Cosmos Campolide, ♪ Daniel Majer and local wizard Violeta AzevedoDaniel Majer hails from the West Coast of Canada, where he studied composition and participated in Vancouver's unfolding experimental scene. Majer creates and collaborates in sound design, film scores, multi-media installation and live musical performances. His practice draws from philosophy, film, metaphysics, themes on time, culture, archives, memory and more. He’s given performances across Canada and internationally in Europe, Japan and Central America. He has released albums on labels such as the Canadian/Mexican based Isla & Jan Jelinek’s Berlin-based Faitiche. His latest album “Time for No Memory” was released in October 2024 on the Berlin based label Vaagner.

By now a continuously fascinating fixture within the Portuguese circuit, whose past includes the co-foundation of Savage Ohms and presently is part of I+A+V e Menino da Mãe's band, Violeta Azevedo has been projecting on the flute - and also her voice - a very particular universe elevated by electronic processing. As a solo act, Violeta inhabits an aura of mystery, marked by the absence of recordings under her own name, where each apparition reveals itself as a glimpse in time & space of her occult work in progress. Filled with a deep lyricism, her flute lines, driven through a vast array of pedals - some of her own creation - ascend to a perpetual sound flow that honours the pioneering spirits of 50s and 60s electronics and their memory through hauntology, capable of evoking droney and/or pensive landscapes and the hazy glimmer of some noisy daydreams in its trail.
