January Topic: The American Dream
Living Room Conversations connects people within communities and across differences through dialogue to build trust and understanding. In small groups, we'll sit down for a structured conversation about an agreed upon topic.
We have six conversation agreements that create the environment needed to foster connection and understanding:
1. Be curious and listen to understand.
2. Show respect and suspend judgment.
3. Note any common ground as well as any differences.
4. Be authentic and welcome that from others.
5. Be purposeful and to the point.
6. Own and guide the conversation.
