Black History and Black Business Month ends. Juneteenth passes. But our every day choices create the community we deserve to live in.
About this Event

Living Room Conversations is a safe space where we gather and discuss what makes us holistically healthier emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, and as a community.

What’s on the menu this Friday is an intimate, honest, and powerful conversation about what it truly means to strategically make buying Black a way of life not just a holiday choice that we practice and promote during Juneteenth, Black History Month, or Black Business Month, but something we consciously practice every single day.

And yes, there will be something yummy to nibble on, because food is what I do. 😊

There seems to be a war on Black financial stability, and we must become more conscious of the power of our dollar and where we choose to spend it. Black workers have experienced troubling employment losses and economic instability over the past year, making conversations about how we strengthen our own economic ecosystems even more important. In fact according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of employed Black women fell by approximately 318,000 in just four months in 2025, and as of July 2026, the Black unemployment rate was 6.3% compared with 3.6% for White workers. We need to cook up some healthier numbers.

Every dollar we spend in our community is a vote for the communities we deserve to live in.

This collective conversation goes deeper than a list of topics. We are coming together to talk honestly about what is happening with Black economics right now and why the way we spend our money carries real urgency.

We will share strategies, build systems together, and leave with something real in our hands.

Expect to talk about money moves that can move us forward, from family buying funds to bulk-buying strategies that help keep dollars circulating within our community.

Expect to talk about how we show up for Black-owned businesses and how Black-owned businesses can show up better for our customers and our community.

Expect to walk away with a living, growing list of businesses we trust and a growing strategy that we built together in the room.

Come ready to share, to listen, and to leave with a plan and your taste buds happy.

Two worksheets will guide our conversation and become community resources that we can all take home, use, add to, and share.

This is a space for real talk, collective action, and real investment in the community we deserve to live in.  Look forward to seeing grab your ticket, to keep this conversation intimate guest list ends at 30 people.
