This guided walk explores the deep connections between people and plants, highlighting how humans in this region have used native species for food, medicine, tools, and cultural traditions. Along the trail, participants will learn to identify key plants, hear stories of their historical uses, and gain a new appreciation for the living landscape that has supported human life for thousands of years. Distance is about 1 mile along mostly paved trails. Please note that this is a one-way hike into the Park; participants are encouraged to continue exploring the Central Garden or may return to the Visitor Center with the guide. Weather dependent.
