About this Event
Living History: How We Fought
Final Part of the Living History Series
Moderated by: Benjamin Coy, The Cocktails & Culture Podcast
Join us for the final gathering in a four-part LGBTQ+ intergenerational storytelling series centering the voices of local elders, icons, and activists.
In How We Fought, we will reflect on activism and what Pride meant before corporate sponsorships, how organizing happened before social media, and the moments when showing up required real courage. We will learn from elders, activists and artists about backlash cycles, sustaining long-term advocacy without burning out, and what lessons today’s activists should carry forward.
This evening is about honoring lived experience, preserving community memory, and strengthening the bridge between generations.
Come listen, learn, and be part of a conversation that connects our past to our future.
We are partnering with The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center to host this event.
