This live event, presented by Histopathologists, Dr Louisa Miller and Dr Ryan Huddleston involves a ‘living’ dead body, played by an actor. The pathologists will take you through the process of a post-mortem examination, showing the real instruments used, explaining where incisions are made, how each organ is examined and what tests might be carried out. They’ll also explain the role of pathologists and what circumstances would lead to a post-mortem being required for someone who has died.Offering a scientifically accurate and sensitive account of this important medical examination, Living Autopsy also includes an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the demonstration, with resources from The Royal College of Pathologists for you to take home.
