About the Films:
In the documentary Me to Play, Dan Moran and Chris Jones are two professional actors with Parkinson's disease who put on an off-Broadway production of Samuel Beckett's comic masterpiece Endgame, which Beckett wrote as a metaphor for life with the disease after caring for his mother as she succumbed to it. Endgame is a complex piece of theater that makes the case that "there's nothing funnier than unhappiness."
Wired Differently is a short documentary about a group of neuro-atypical actors that explores what it means to be 'wired differently'. The film follows group of theater artists with Parkinson’s, MS, TBI and stroke, who set out to make a film during the pandemic about their journeys with their diagnoses. The actors devised the entire production, including the theatricalizations of their personal stories, which are funny, heart wrenching, inspiring, and beautiful. The artists are all part of an acting class at the Lineage Performing Arts Center.
