About this Event

Who should attend?

  • Persons interested in learning about liver health.

Why Liver Health?

Liver disease affects up to 1 in 4 Canadians and is a growing global health concern. Many people are unaware they may be at risk because liver disease often develops silently without symptoms. It is also commonly misunderstood—often associated only with alcohol use, when in reality it has many causes. Our goal is to provide clear, practical, and culturally welcoming education that helps individuals better understand liver health, reduce stigma, and make informed decisions about their wellbeing.
This FREE community workshop features:

  1. Educational presentation: A 45-minute presentation on liver health.
  2. An optional FibroScan® Screening (age 18+): A quick, painless, and non-invasive screening tool that works like an ultrasound to measure liver stiffness and fat. (Spots are limited to 40 participants and B.C. residents; registration is strongly encouraged).
  3. Complimentary refreshments & light snacks: Provided for all attendees! For most accurate scan results, please try your best to avoid eating or drinking (except water) for 3 hours before your scan. You're welcome to enjoy the snack station after your FibroScan!
Want to learn more about the FibroScan? Visit the official for details.

FibroScan®

🕑: 10:30 AM - 01:30 PM
FibroScan® (limited to 40 spots)

Info: Registration is recommended as space is limited. Walk-ins are welcome to sign up on the day of the event, subject to availability. The FibroScan is a quick, painless, and non-invasive screening tool that works like an ultrasound using gentle sound waves to measure liver stiffness and fat. There are no needles, injections, sedation, or radiation involved. Participants will receive their results immediately, along with guidance on appropriate follow-up if needed. Note: Screening appointments are optional, limited in availability, and open to individuals 18 years and older. The FibroScan® does not provide a final medical diagnosis by itself and does not replace a medical assessment by a physician or other qualified healthcare provider. Results are estimations and can change based on things like whether you ate food, your body shape, or other health conditions. A normal FibroScan® does not completely rule out liver disease. Please follow up with your regular healthcare provider.
