About this Event
Join us at The Angelou Centre where we will be hosting a Lived Experience Learning Hub, under the banner of the North East Anti-Racism Coalition | (NEARC). This women-only Lived Experience Learning Hub is a care-centred, facilitated space for women with lived experience of racism to come together in community.
This session centres storytelling, reflection and connection, creating a space where participants can share experiences in ways that feel safe, supported and non-judgmental. The session will prioritise deep listening, solidarity, and the importance of being heard.
Facilitated by Dr Nafhesa Ali (Northumbria University), the hub draws on Black feminist and intersectional approaches, informed by thinkers such as bell hooks and Paulo Freire.
What to expect:
- A safe, brave and supportive space for women
- Opportunities to share lived experiences (as much or as little as you wish)
- Deep listening and collective reflection
- Space for quieter voices and different ways of sharing
- A focus on care, connection and solidarity
Participants will also be invited to join a collective session in May.
A light lunch will be provided at 12pm, with the session starting promptly at 12.30pm.
