Live Supervision and Open House 2.23.25

Please join us for the first in a series of virtual live supervision events, presented in honor of one of our founding members, Sheldon Kastner, Ph.D.

Our first event features Irwin Hirsch, Ph.D., supervising third-year candidate Danielle Drori, Ph.D. on an analytic case that focuses on transference/countertransference issues.

This will be followed by a virtual, informal Open House for our analytic programs: the Licensure Qualifying Program and the Certificate Program in Psychoanalysis. 

Irwin Hirsch, PhD is a co-founder of Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis, as well as a former director and current faculty and supervisor at MIP. He is also faculty and supervisor at the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and the William Alanson White Institute. He has written and presented widely, and maintains a private practice in Manhattan.

Danielle Drori, PhD is a third-year candidate in the Licensure Qualifying Program at Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis. She is Associate Faculty and Director of Development at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research, where she teaches seminars in Comparative Literature. Her writing has appeared in both academic and popular publications including Prooftexts and the Los Angeles Review of Books.

Sheldon Kastner, PhD (1937-2022) was also a co-founder of Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis, where he was a beloved teacher and supervisor. He also held the position of Associate Professor of Applied Psychology at NYU for over 30 years. He maintained a private practice in New York and New Jersey until his death in 2022. This series of live supervisions is presented in his honor.
