We are excited to announce that one of the nation's leading silent film accompanists, Ben Model, will be joining us at The Varsity Cinema for Silent Movie Day on Sunday, September 29!Come watch the amazingly talented, Ben Model perform a live score to Buster Keaton classics, Sherlock Jr. (celebrating it's 100th anniversary) and One Week.
Ben Model is a resident film accompanist at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and at the Library of Congress, is a regular at festivals such as the TCM Classic Film Festival, and performs at historic theaters, museums, schools and other venues around world. We're honored to host him here in Des Moines!
Silent Movie Day is an annual celebration of silent movies, a vastly misunderstood and neglected cinematic art form.
