Live Painting Event at the Jarrad Heaslip Gallery
About this Event
FERNDALE, MI — Jarrad Heaslip Gallery in conjunction with Ferndale Area District Library, will host a community live painting event on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4–9 p.m., inviting the public to take part in the creation of a collaborative artwork in support of the library.
Led by artist Charlie Foster, the event will feature a 20-foot-long canvas rolled out for community members of all ages to paint on. Guests are encouraged to contribute directly to the artwork, adding their own marks to a piece that will reflect the creativity, energy, and spirit of the Ferndale community.
Food and drinks will be served throughout the evening.
After the event, Foster will take the canvas back to his studio to complete the final work. The finished painting will be auctioned at a later date, with proceeds benefiting Ferndale Area District Library.
“The idea is to welcome the community into the gallery to experience Charlie’s painting process up close and help create the piece together. Once finished, it will be enjoyed by everyone at the library while also supporting an important public resource” says Jarrad Heaslip, owner and director of the Jarrad Heaslip Gallery. “We’re so excited to be working with the Ferndale Library and hope this is the start of a wonderful, lasting relationship.”
