English version belowJoe Powers is een internationaal geprezen mondharmonicaspeler, componist en opnameartiest. Hij speelt vele muziekgenres en is gespecialiseerd in het spelen van Argentijnse tangomuziek. Joe begon mondharmonica te spelen toen hij twee jaar oud was en studeerde af in muziekcompositie aan de Universiteit van Oregon. Hij is bekroond harmonica virtuoos en staat bekend om het buigen en mengen van genres van Jazz tot Klassiek, Blues tot Wereldmuziek en Argentijnse Tango. Joe Powers heeft samengewerkt met gerenommeerde Tango maestro’s en heeft opgetreden met uiteenlopende groepen en artiesten en getoerd met bands als Otros Aires, Tanghetto en Narcotango. Tijdens zijn Europese tournee in 2023 verscheen Joe op tangofestivals in Bretagne, Frankrijk, Bayonne, Frankrijk en op het Gryf Tango Weekend in Szczecin, Polen.
Joe treedt vanavond op als soloartiest. Hij zal twee keer 20 minuten dansbare Tango nummers op de mondharmonica spelen, waarbij hij in het midden van de dansvloer zal staan terwijl de dansers om hem heen dansen, waardoor de ervaring heel intiem en speciaal wordt.
De rest van de avond zal DJ Robert-Jan vullen met de mooiste muzikale tanda’s.
Het Tango Café start om half 9 en duurt tot middernacht. Vóór het Tango Café is er een workshop Muzikaliteit door Joe en Isabel Camano. Meer over deze workshop hier (link)

Joe Powers is an internationally acclaimed harmonica player, composer and recording artist. He plays many genres of music and specialises in playing Argentine tango music. Joe started playing harmonica when he was two years old and majored in music composition at the University of Oregon. An award-winning harmonica virtuoso, he is known for bending and mixing genres from Jazz to Classical, Blues to World music and Argentine Tango. Joe Powers has collaborated with renowned Tango maestros and has performed with a variety of groups and artists and toured with bands such as Otros Aires, Tanghetto and Narcotango. During his European tour in 2023, Joe appeared at tango festivals in Brittany, France, Bayonne, France, and at the Gryf Tango Weekend in Szczecin, Poland.
Joe performs tonight as a solo artist. He will play 20-minute danceable Tango songs on the harmonica twice, standing in the middle of the dance floor while the dancers dance around him, making the experience very intimate and special. Here is a foretaste.
DJ Robert-Jan will fill the rest of the evening with the finest musical tandas.
The Tango Café starts at 8.30 pm and lasts until midnight. Before the Tango Café, there will be a Musicality workshop by Joe and Isabel Camano. More about this workshop here.
