The second show in the Live @ Obec series presented by Louder Creative Co. is free and happening on January 17. This show is FREE!Headliner Big Dirt serves up a mix of grooving originals and new takes on classic covers. Their sound blends Classic Rock and Alt-Americana with hints of Blues and Bluegrass to shape a fresh harmony-rich, electro-acoustic sound. Based in Seattle, Big Dirt has brought their well-crafted sound to local venues and festivals from California to Alaska and Minnesota.
Their latest album (Beyond Mars) features founding guitarist/songwriter, UW professor, and MacArthur "genius" Dave Montgomery, Dan "the mandolinian" Brown, Bryan Ubaghs on drums, and Gary Ehret on bass. Their live sets mix their robust catalog of originals with classics by The Band, Gordon Lightfoot, Grateful Dead, Son Volt, Patty Griffin and others.
New Seattle cover band Church of Brunch will be supporting by dishing out healthy portions of your favorite rock and Americana tunes. Members include: Ashly Moore Sheldon (vocals/acoustic guitar), Drew Albenze (guitar), Isaac Sheldon (drums), Kurt Brown (guitar), and Sheryl Rothmuller (bass).
