At 8:00 PM EST, we welcome national touring artist Pat Wictor. Let’s start out by saying mark your calendar - this will be one of our best shows of the year. Pat Wictor first burst on the folk and acoustic scene as an innovative slide guitarist known for fresh and memorable interpretations of traditional and contemporary songs. Since then he has made his mark as a singer-songwriter penning lean and poetic songs that honor and extend rural blues and gospel traditions. For seven years he toured as one third of Brother Sun, the powerful harmonizing trio with Joe Jencks and Greg Greenway, garnering critical acclaim, two #1 CDs on the Folk DJ charts, and a continent-spanning tour schedule. Recognition and honors have followed Pat for years: he won the Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist Showcase, was nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year by the Folk Alliance, was nominated for Gospel Song of the Year by the Independent Music Awards, and was a finalist in the Kerrville New Folk songwriting contest. His current CD FLARE was #1 on the Folk-DJ chart, and "How Will They Tell It" was the #1 song. His other CDs also received wide play on folk radio. At 7:30 PM EST, we welcome back singer-songwriter, and long time friend of Pat, Greg Trafidlo. Greg performed at 3rd Street on our opening night in April of 1987, frequently ever since (we lost count long ago). He has shared the stage with the top names in the business – Tom Paxton, Bill Monroe, Kathy Mattea, Emmylou Harris, Peter Yarrow, John Prine, and many others. His songs have been performed by Pete Seeger, Robbie Fulks, Bob Zentz, the Lynchburg, Virginia Symphony, and others. He is one third of the powerhouse folk trio "Trifolkal" (along with Laura Pole and Neal Phillip) and released his new CD "A Different Story" in 2020. Check him out at https://gregtrafidlo.com/.
