New Realm proudly presents Cat Strickland!About Cat Strickland:
As a young child, Cat had a deep connection to music. She wouldn’t just dance, she lost herself in and felt every ebb and flow of all types of music. Growing up the draw became stronger. Cat would play Rock Band with her friends and brother; which prompted a desire to learn guitar. At seven years old she asked for guitar lessons and voice lessons. Over time it all developed into what she would enjoy doing in her spare time; which translated in a way to pay for college. Cat truly enjoys making music for and with people for a living and for college tuition.
Cat will be graduating in December 2023 at Charleston Southern University from the Horton School of Music with a degree in Music Education. She plans to teach voice and guitar privately and in the local school system. Future plans are to pursue a Masters of Music Education as well as begin writing original music.
Currently, you can find her playing solo shows all over the Lowcountry, as well as gigging with her band, The Nine Lives, at various local music venues and festivals. Cat performs weddings, parties and corporate events.
Cat Strickland performs all over the Lowcountry as solo, duo, trio or with her band, The Nine Lives. Her eclectic setlist surprises music lovers of every genre. Cat’s current personal favorite is punk, metal, jazz and classical. Better known as the girl with green hair – she is down-to-earth and just a little shy; but so happy to make new friends at all her shows.
