This Sunday, May 5th, is a LIVE MUSIC JAM with multi-instrumentalist Faez Shahrezaei and we will JAM til 9:30 pm. 30 min Warm-up to start!Faez Shahrezaei grew up in a family of musicians in Esfahan, Iran. He found his first inspiration to be a musician by immersing himself in Tonbak, a Persian Rhythmic percussion instrument. Looking for a more melodic instrument to play, he then started classical Violin and at the age of fourteen, he enrolled in music school to expand his academic knowledge. His first public performances were in Esfahan Symphonic Orchestra during and after his studies. After high school, he lived in Turkey from 2011 to 2013 when he started busking whereby he met and played with other musicians. Busking has been his first musical improvisation. For the past five years, Faez has been playing violin and Didgeridoo in many events. After choosing Canada as his home since 2013, he has been travelling coast to coast to coast and playing many cultural and musical festivals both with violin and Didgeridoo, such as in Kispiox's music festival in BC. Recently, Faez established his band—“The Transit” in Vancouver. Pursuing his passion, he moved back to Ontario in 2017 in order to study jazz in Humber college. Before his enrollment in music school, he started his experiment playing with a rock band calls Human magic for few months during the summer and then he joined Le Blue Tarifa which is a world music band. Also, starting an improvisational experiment with Wednesday contact jam in Toronto and Polinate in Kitchenere sparked a noticeable interest in him to play for dancers. What he experienced was way dipper than the ones before. He realized there is a complimentary relation between improve dance and music, the way they can feed each other for more creativity and inspiration. So, his curiosity for this phenomenal leads him to expose himself more and more to this experiment and bringing more instrumental either vocal ideas into his musical communication with dancer.
