Join us at Visionarium on Saturday, November 21st, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM for an unforgettable evening of live music with Oakland-based pianist, singer, composer, producer, bandleader, and musical director Dana Salzman.
Dana creates a unique and energetic sound that blends soul, funk, R&B, jazz, Afrobeat, reggae, and hip-hop, combining fresh rhythms, powerful vocals, expressive piano, and improvisation into vibrant live performances.
A graduate of The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City, Dana began studying piano at just four years old with her mother, an accomplished Russian pianist. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with celebrated musicians and artists including Pete Escovedo, Mike Marshall, Juan Escovedo, Tony Flores, Abstract Rude, Dee Dee Simon, Latoya London, Marcus Shelby, and many more.
Her performances have taken her to renowned venues across the United States and internationally, including Joe’s Pub and S.O.B.’s in New York City, Yoshi’s in Oakland, the Oakland Museum, and venues in Paris, Prague, Brussels, and Berlin.
Dana is also the recipient of the 2025 San Jose Jazz New Works Grant and has released four acclaimed solo albums. Her fifth album, “Everything Falls Away,” is set to be released on October 16, 2026.
