Duo THE CHOP recently released their debut album via Wrong Speed records and cite inspiration from the likes of Young Marble Giants and Old Rottenhat-era Robert Wyatt (as well as a wealth of classic duos such as Dome, Arab Strap, AC Marias, Spike & Debbie and Tender Buttons-era Broadcast), Andrew Doig's brittle bass guitar forms flourish and gently contort beneath Gemma Fleet’s always impressive narrative vocalisms, underpinned by primitive drum machine and keyboard accompaniment, creating a sound the duo themselves can't quite summarise!
RADIO BANTER, a trio comprised of Chris Wallace (drums / vocals),
Sephi Lock (bass guitar) and Rob Alexander (electric piano / vocals) have recently finished recording an album with their friend Chris White (Spinning Coin/Nightshift). Their music is inspired by Scottish folk singers like Michael Marra, Eddi Reader, trad rock'n'roll and UK politics.
