LIVE MUSIC: An Evening of Acoustic and Electric Soul and Rhythms

Begin the new year with two acts on the opposite ends of the spectrum of Soul. Jennie Angell is a singer/songwriter from NYC who will mesmerize with music harkens back to another era with haunting, transcendent melodies and lyricism, blending floating folk with subtle pop. The Funktronics are a trio that delivers soul in an electronica format with jazz sensibilities and a solid groove at its roots

With a nod to classic soul and funk as well as grooves and electronica from the current decade the Funktronics have delighted audiences of all ages and races throughout the DMV. Comprising of John Yuan on synths, Nima Ghovanlu on bass, and Pieter Struyk on drums the trio pull inspiration from Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock to Thundercat and Snarky Puppy and all funky stuff in between
