We'll start the evening with 3 featured readers, and then open things up to the open-mic!
About the readers:
Shawna Blake is a comedian, storyteller and educator based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She has been doing standup comedy for 11 years and has travelled all over performing in festivals, clubs and colleges. She has opened for amazing comics including David Cross, Dave Attell, Jeff Ross, Michelle Wolf and more.
She produces Don’t Tell Comedy shows in the Tulsa area and her TedX talk “Laughing Matters: How to Find Your Funny” was published in 2021.
Blake teaches communication at Tulsa Community College because she loves a captive audience. When she is not performing or teaching, she is obsessed with her dog to a degree that’s been called “terrifying” and “disturbing” by others who haven’t met him.
Dustin Springer is a graduate student at Oklahoma State University working on his MFA in creative writing. His work has been featured in Spare Parts Literary and is forthcoming from Beyond Words Magazine. He lives and works in Tulsa with his wife and daughters.
Jenna Junior is a writing educator by day and a fiction writer on those same days, but when she's not busy teaching adults how to use commas. She is a zine-creator, organizer of Dead Zone Zine Fest, and the founding sponsor to the TCC Creative Writing Club. As an author, Jenna has been published in Pokeweed, Flash Fiction Magazine, and Run Amok Press's crime anthology, Jacked, for which she was recognized in Harper Collins's Best American Mystery and Suspense. Additionally, she has been published in horror anthologies and appeared in Oklahoma University Press's Voices of the Heartland Vol. 2.
