We’re excited to announce a last minute decision to host a rare Monday evening concert which will feature touring singer songwriters Julia Finegan & The Hopeless Semantic from Philadelphia. They’ll be supported by Durham based singer songwriter Bella Nona who will be joined by Richmond, VA based Sun V Set. All four musicians will be making their Huron Stage debuts. Bios ➡️ Julia Finegan is a folk-adjacent singer-songwriter from Philadelphia. She writes songs with the aim of telling stories, asking honest questions, and allowing words to make nice noises when they stand all together in a line or a circle.
The Hopeless Semantic is a Philadelphia based singer songwriter who makes folk music. Inspired by old-time, ragtime jazz, and perhaps the esoteric, they play banjo and sing about bugs and birds and feelings.
Bella Nona is a North Carolina based musician, storyteller and visual artist with deep roots in southern American folk music. While her newest album, Beautiful Fish, reflects Nona’s ability to combine complex orchestral arrangements with emotional chords and lyrics, she also composes for the contemporary circus company Circus EVO, revealing a whole other whimsical side to her creative identity. A storyteller at heart, Nona has created music for puppeteers, dancers, and artists of all kinds. Her music can be heard on all streaming platforms, as well as live with her Greensboro based band, Act of Love.
Sun V Set is the musical project of Linnea Morgan, a Richmond-based singer-songwriter and musical creative. Described by listeners as otherworldly, and transcendent, Sun V Set’s music offers a refuge for mind and spirit. Raised on classical violin and later evolving into a self-taught singer-songwriter, Morgan brings a wide musical foundation to her art. Their body of work ranges from solo acoustic to chamber-folk collaboratives, and from stripped-down intimacy to lush, maximalist production.
