Hamilton Prop House is absolutely thrilled to welcome LMT Connection to Live from the Bookcase for the very first time!For more than three decades, this veteran soul-funk trio has been converting music lovers into full-blown funkateers, playing over 6,500 shows across the globe and releasing seven independent albums—all without a label. Fronted by the incomparable Leroy Emmanuel, now approaching his 76th birthday, the band embodies the pure joy and discipline of true musicianship.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Detroit, Emmanuel cut his teeth in the golden age of Motown, supporting Marvin Gaye, Bohannon, and Bettye Lavette, while earning a cult following with his own group, The Fabulous Counts. After relocating to Niagara Falls, he teamed up with drummer Mark Rogers and bassist John Irvine to form LMT Connection in 1989 — and the rest is funk history.
Their philosophy is simple: play every show like it’s a stadium concert. That passion has led them to share stages with legends like Al Green, Tower of Power, Joey DeFrancesco, and B.B. King (on his 80th birthday tour). Their music later caught fire in Europe, where they toured with the renowned Chops Horns — the same horn section that’s backed Alicia Keys, The Rolling Stones, and George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic.
For LMT Connection, funk is more than a genre — it’s an expedition. The borders are always being re-drawn, and the groove never ends.
