Comprised of actual and legacy members from the extended Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers families, this exceptional ensemble has left fans gobsmacked in every one of its 60 shows, played in its inaugural year. The brainchild of musical virtuosos deeply rooted in the iconic sounds of the era, Live Dead and Brothers merges the extraordinary legacies of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band into an unforgettable live spectacle. This one-of-a-kind ensemble transcends the boundaries of tribute acts, delivering an authentic, immersive experience that pays homage to the groundbreaking music that defined a generation.
Live Dead and Brothers is comprised of legacy members Berry Duane Oakley (Allman Betts bassist), Les Dudek (Allman Brothers Band guitarist, Brothers & Sisters), Mark Karan (The Other Ones, Bob Weir Ratdog guitarist), Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh & Friends keyboardist) and Pete Lavezzoli (Oteil & Friends, JGB, Jazz Is Dead drummer).
Together, these accomplished musicians skillfully recreate the magic of the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band's co-billed concerts from 1969 to 1973. Their performances capture the raw energy, improvisational prowess, and soul-stirring melodies that defined an era of musical innovation.
