Darkwood from Dresden in Germany are among the Neofolk genre’s main names. The band, led by composer and lyricist Henryk Vogel, made their debut in 1999 with the album “In The Fields” and have since marked themselves among the absolute top artists of the scene through several albums, Eps and live performances. Darkwood’s style is warm acoustic folk music with guitar and violin as central instruments accompanied by militant drums and discrete electronic and experimental elements. The atmosphere is simultaneously quietly melancholic and bombastically triumphant which is supported and reinforced by the poetic lyrics which draw inspiration from the historical tensions and fates of the homeland. The Black Easter Celebration event is Darkwood’s first live performance in Scandinavia and the band will perform with a full 5-piece line-up. Phenol Injektion is an Industrial/Power electronics outfit from Denmark with two full length albums and a four track tape released so far. The style combines heavy pulsing electronics with scrap metal percussion and aggressive vocals. On this occasion Phenol Injektion will be joined by Thomas Bøjden of Die Weisse Rose and Vril Jäger on metal percussion.
