Live Book Reading from The Life I Couldn't See Yet
About this Event
Join Lisa Pleasants for a reading from her memoir, The Life I Couldn't See Yet: A Mother, a Son, and the Future Beyond a Rare Diagnosis.
In her book, Lisa shares her experiences raising a son with a rare inherited retinal disease, the challenges and lessons along the way, and how those experiences shaped her perspective on parenting, independence, and life in general.
During this informal gathering, Lisa will read selected passages, share some of the stories behind them, and welcome questions and conversation. Her hope is that sharing her experiences will offer insight, encouragement, and connection to others navigating their own challenges.
The reading will be held in the Large Pixels room of Happy Brew Cafe, where Lisa is offering free drip coffee and pastries. Admission is Free.
Proceeds from book sales benefit Moms for Sight, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families affected by inherited retinal diseases and advancing research.
