Live At Meneer De Wit: Sofiia Popova & David Huson (World Music)

Live At Meneer De Wit is a series of intimate concerts hosted in the atmospheric basement of Meneer De Wit, presented in collaboration with Muziekacademie Amsterdam. As part of this partnership, the program will feature a series of concerts highlighting projects by the academy’s teachers.

This edition presents Sofiia & David, a duo formed in Amsterdam in 2024 by Ukrainian singer Sofiia Popova and Dutch guitarist David Huson. Their collaboration is driven by a passion for exploring music from around the world — from the rhythms of Brazil and Cabo Verde to the heartfelt traditions of Ukraine and Argentina.

With just voice and guitar, Sofiia & David create a minimalist yet profoundly emotional sound. Their performances weave together universal themes of love, longing, and connection to homeland, inviting listeners on an intimate musical journey across cultures.
