Two show option: 7pm and 9:30pmGuitarist, vocalist, composer Valeria Stewart (née Rodriguez-Rozic) offers a captivating multilingual performance rooted in World, Latin, jazz, and Americana traditions. Born in Buenos Aires and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, Valeria brings a unique bicultural sensibility to her music.
At Blues Alley, she will present her her newly released solo debut album “Raíces | Roots”, on the ANTIDOTE SOUNDS label, featuring award-winning original songs in Spanish, alongside classic selections from Cuba and Argentina, and additional original works written in English. Her album has been at the top of the Latin and World charts for more than 10 weeks. Her performance promises a rich tapestry of storytelling, heritage, and emotional depth — a journey through her roots.
Valeria's bandmates for this double show will be Kevin Dudley co-producer and guitarist on the album, Eugenio Ibarz, double bassist on the album, and Manuel Arciniega weaving the many cool rhythms on percussion. Manny has performed with orchestras and ensembles worldwide — including the The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of India, and the American Pops Orchestra. He especially loves the argentine zambas and Cuban styles that Valeria presents, and will be a perfect fit for the show.
