About this Event
Little Ireland Community Gatherings have become a much-loved part of our calendar. This October, we have a unique task that calls for a true MEITHEAL: to plan for our first-ever LIAC ARTS & CULTURE DAY Day (Saturday 5th Dec 2026). Join us for bia, comhrá, comh-éisteacht agus ealaíon - for food, conversation, listening deeply and some hands-on artistic, literary and musical activities to get our creative heads in gear!

"Ireland and Scotland are bound by strong ties of friendship, culture and language" said an tUachtarán Catherine Connolly on her recent visit to Scotland. We will lean into those rich Gaelic connections as our ideas take shape for the Culture Day.

We warmly encourage you to contribute to planning for the all-day event on Saturday 5th December '26 in the Scottish Storytelling Centre. It's a big step forward for our community. Info: With a large repertoire of Irish and Scottish Gaelic songs, déirdre will share some easy to learn material in both languages in an informal, relaxed workshop. We will look into the rich background to the songs and gain insights into the connections as well as the differences between the two traditions.
